Common Primary, Junior and Infant School Data Spreadsheet Issues

This video helps Primary Schools, Junior Schools and Infant Schools format their spreadsheet correctly, and check it for common errors or problems, so that it works perfectly in the Parents’ Evening Booking System. In this spreadsheet you will be taught how to check all of the main columns have data in them (and how to add data to them if they are missing some), how to check that all students have at least 1x parent (and how to add them if they don’t) and how to add teachers to each class if they are missing.

Common Secondary and High School Data Spreadsheet Issues

This video helps High Schools and Secondary Schools (and schools with more than 1x teacher per child) format their spreadsheet correctly. It helps you check your data for common upload errors or problems, so that it works perfectly in the Parents’ Evening Booking System.

In this spreadsheet you will be taught how to check all that all students have at least 1x parent (and how to add them if they don’t) and how to check which teachers are responsible for a class you know is a ‘split class’ (and how to change them if necessary).

This video helps schools remove additional/extra student details from rows in their data spreadsheet that should be blank.

Removing Duplicate Student, Parent and Teacher Records from your Spreadsheet

This tutorial explains how to remove duplicate rows in your data spreadsheet when students, parents and teachers have all been duplicated on a number of rows.

All we need to do is use Excel’s ‘Delete Duplicates’ tool to fix this.

Removing Duplicate Student and Parent Rows Without Affecting the Teacher Rows

This help video explains how to use a bolt-on for Excel called Kutools to remove Student and Parent rows fro a spreadsheet (when they have been duplicated) without deleting or affecting the Teacher rows. This is useful when you only want to show the student and parent on the top row, deleting the duplicates without deleting the teachers or the rows.

Removing Special Characters from your Data

This video helps you remove special characters, such as ” ‘ ” (apostrophy) or symbols, from your spreadsheet of data.

Encoding your Data Spreadsheet so that Foreign Characters Upload Properly

If your school has students, parents or teachers who have international/foreign characters in their names, your spreadsheet will not have coped with these properly in the past UNLESS you follow this guide, which explains how to ‘encode’ your spreadsheet properly, using Notepad++, so that the file uploads properly.
